‘Thank you’, from both the young and the old
Walking into a rural home on the Missions, gives an immediate picture of the poverty.
Floors – sometimes mud, sometimes cement, are bare. There may be a bed, which will be used by more than one person. Perhaps a rickety table. And perhaps an ancient livingroom chair or sofa.
With winter again on the way, this is when you know the true value of a blanket to those living there.
Blankets donated by Mission friends were welcomed with open arms last winter, by those most vulnerable on the missions – the very young, and the frail elderly.
‘Thank you’, was repeated over and over by each person who held your ‘winter warmth’ to their heart. God bless you for your kindness.
