Zulu Bible for children

Thank you for putting the pictorial Bibles into the hands of our Mission children for Easter

During 2015, Mariannhill Mission Press took the initiative of securing the rights to print a pictorial Bible for children, with texts in a number of home languages. Zulu was one of these languages, and it was a project to which Cardinal Napier gave his wholehearted support and encouragement. This was step one. And we thank Mariannhill Mission Press most sincerely for their endeavour.

Then we asked you to help us put those Bibles into the hands of young children on the Zulu Missions. You responded with your wholehearted support and encouragement, sending your donation to help with the distribution of the Bibles.

This was step two. And we thank you for your generosity.

Step three was turning your donation into action, and putting the Bibles into the hands of our Mission children, which began at a First Communion Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea parish. At the end of the Mass, Cardinal Napier invited all the children who would like to receive a pictorial Bible to come up to the altar and receive one.

There was a delighted response, and your spirit of giving was very present, making this first distribution event very special.

Thanks to your generosity, more will follow. Thank you, so much.
