Sung Mass in honour of Cardinal Napier

On Saturday 14 April, the usual 5.30pm Mass at the Emmanuel Cathedral will resound with the voices of the Durban Chamber Choir performing the stunning Monteverdi Mass for 4 voices.

This is a unique opportunity to hear music written almost 400 years ago used in its original context.  The presider of the Mass is Cardinal Napier, and the idea of singing the Mass was suggested as a way to honour him.  A collection will be taken for the Napier Centre for Healing, the Cardinal’s legacy project as a rehabilitation centre for street-living drug-users.
