san-pads-handout

Thanks to the generosity of our Mission friends – over 3 000 packs of sanitary pads were delivered to two schools in our Archdiocese last week!

The pads were handed out to 1 200 young girls from poor families, who have to make the difficult choice every month: buy sanitary products or food. Because they can’t afford both.

Even though the government has removed the tax on these products, they still cost more than a loaf of bread. Food that could mean all the difference between having something to eat, or going to bed hungry.

Thank you for your understanding and willingness to help Mission girls overcome ‘period poverty’. This will be an ongoing project of the iKhwezi Foundation, so if you ever feel that you have more than your fair share of blessings, please remember the plight of these girls, and continue to support the project.

Or make the decision now to set up a monthly gift towards this need through our website.

It’s not just a gift of dignity, but one that enables young girls to stay in school … be present for all their lessons … and have a better chance of passing their end of year exams.

Thank you again for your loving support.
