Young learners at Senzakahle Primary School in Ixcopo express their gratitude for the new school shoes provided by our generous supporters.

New school shoes get children dancing for joy

Towards the end of last year, we asked for your help to provide school shoes for disadvantaged learners at rural schools within our Archdiocese – and you didn’t hesitate!

Thanks to your amazing generosity, we were able to distribute no fewer than 1 200 pairs of school shoes – from Size 1 to 12 – to schools in Ixopo, Ntshongweni, Edendale and Inchanga. When volunteers from the Catholic Schools office arrived in their bakkies (pick-up trucks) piled high with boxes and boxes of shoes, the reaction was priceless! Teachers expressed their heartfelt gratitude and heaped blessings on us … while the children themselves sang and danced for joy.

How we wish you could have been present to see it all for yourself. But we’ve captured these joyful moments on video to share with you. Enjoy this small taste of what your kindness means to kids who would otherwise walk barefoot to school. Their gratitude belongs to you, because we could never have done it without your support.

May God bless you for your loving, generous heart.
