Lasting legacies

As we live each day, we all create our personal legacies. We adopt attitudes, carry out actions, and make our own unique mark for which we’ll be remembered.

Each time the Archdiocese of Durban receives what is most commonly called a ‘legacy’ (a gift in someone’s Will) we’re reminded of the unseen legacy that comes with that special generosity.

We recall our relationship with that friend – and often it’s been over many, many years. We remember the encouragement and spiritual support they gave to our people on the Missions. We acknowledge the prayers that were said for us by that friend. We grieve for the loss of their earthly presence, and pray for their everlasting life in Christ.

Then we put that final gift to use in their memory. In all its facets, a legacy is a beautiful thing.
