HELP PUT THREE NEW PRIESTS ONTO THE MISSIONS
A

t the beginning of March, we ordained three new priests:

Father Mtshengiseni Dlamini grew up on a rural Mission outstation, and had to walk many kilometres each day to attend the Catholic School. He knows the struggle and the hardships of those who live in these areas – as well as the value of the Mission.

Father Wandile Chagwe had the stirrings of a vocation at around age 15. His pastoral formation work in poor rural areas grew his desire to be a Mission priest.

Father Simon Sibisi was also young when he first felt that he might have a vocation. But, after finishing school, he became a teacher to support his elderly father and his mother who was a domestic worker. Eventually he felt he couldn’t ignore God’s call any more. So he joined the Seminary for elderly vocations in Rome.

Whilst it’s wonderful to have three new priests ready to serve on the Missions, our priority now is providing each with a reliable vehicle.

Distances between remote rural outstations are vast and public transport is sporadic at best. A vehicle is essential – not only to get the priest from place to place … but also to act as an ambulance or other emergency transport for his parishioners.

But funding three new vehicles is a dilemma for our Archdiocese. So we are turning to people like you – who understand the need to keep faith and hope alive in poverty stricken communities – and hoping you’ll make a contribution to help put the new priests on the Missions.

DONATE NOW

Your donation of any amount – made online right now – will be put towards vehicles to enable Mission priests to serve their people.

But you won’t just be contributing towards a car. You’ll be giving poverty stricken rural people someone they can turn to when their faith falters and all hope seems lost. Your gift is the Mass, all the sacraments from birth through to death, and much more – all brought to them by their Mission Priest.

So please will you support our new Mission priests now?
